Peter, a successful house tuner who calibrates the sounds, colors, and subtle forces at play in people's homes, meets Ellen, a client with a problem he can't solve.
Peter, a self-taught scientist in New York City, has a unique, highly specialized profession of his own invention. He’s a “house tuner”: a therapist, of sorts, who calibrates the sounds in peoples’ homes in order to adjust their moods. After years of collecting data, Peter believes he’s discovered naturally occurring harmonies around New York City that are influencing the way people behave.
On a routine house call, Peter meets Ellen, a new client with a problem he cannot solve. The more Peter tries—and fails—to help her, the more Ellen’s resulting skepticism pokes holes in his previously airtight theories. Peter is subsequently sent on a downward spiral that calls his entire practice and lifelong research about human connectivity into question.
PALIMPSEST is a modern romantic drama rich with mystery and nuance that examines the subtle forces at play in our urban lives.
